Installation design for Faculty of Architecture's annual event - "Silpjoom" at Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand.
Design Team: Kritbodee Chaicharoen, Thammatat Asawathepmetha, Varat Limthongkul, Mo Jirachaisakul
Year: 2009
SILPJOOM (literally means ‘Baptist‘ in English) is an annual freshmen welcoming ceremony of the Faculty of Architecture. Every year, the faculty’s courtyard is transformed into different themes.
In 2009, I was a part of the team who lead and designed the installation for this event. This year’s theme was “Colorful”. Seven colors represent seven freshmen activities. Once the activity took place, the color of that activity would be painted on the courtyard. SILPJOOM was the last event which was the summary of all activities before. So seven colors were painted to celebrate the ending of freshmen welcoming ceremony.
“Everything Depends On This Moment” is a “thing I have learned in my life.” I wanted to make artwork to share with people around me. Each letter is made of my handwriting on mirrored acrylic sheets. I installed them in 7 places around New York City: Madison Square Park, Flatiron, Union Square subway station, Grand Central Station, New York Public Library and Central Park. I believed that in different places, different audiences and different time, my work can be interpreted in different ways.

We hope they will enjoy and have fun with it.

CHULA VICHAKARN is the academic exposition of Chulalongkorn University (offered once every 3 years) in which students of each faculty have a chance to exhibit their academic work to the public.
